It Is The End Of The Micrsoft Band
It is with sorrow that I confirm what has been rumoured for a while now the Band is dead. Microsoft have made a statement saying they have no plans to release another Band this year and have sold through their Band 2 stock meaning you can no longer purchase the fitness tracker. The upside is that Microsoft have stated they will continue to support Band 2 users in what form this is I’m not sure as I cant see them releasing updates for a discontinued product.
This news comes weeks after the rumours that Microsoft had dispended the group working on the Band 3 after issues getting it to work with Windows 10 IOT edition.
A few weeks ago Microsoft changed the name of Microsoft Health app to Microsoft Band so this could mean they are working on a new health platform as they have stated they are committed to a health platform in what form this will appear I’m not sure, all we can assume that it will be similar to other health platforms and allow products such as fitbits to feed in data to the app.
Microsoft is planning on announcing some new products this year as they have a event at the end of October. We are expecting to see the Surface PC all in one and maybe the long awaited Surface Phone but we can only wait and see.
